TOURIST VISA

The tourist visa is for people that are going to be in Mexico for periods shorter than 180 days.

  1. valid passport with at least six months of validity
  2. a certificate of employment (letter from your employer describing your position and monthly salary), or a letter from a school indicating you are a student; proof of income for freelancers or entrepreneurs
  3. bank account statements for the last 3 months
  4. an application form filled out
  5. a photograph

TEMPORARY RESIDENT

This option is for people who are staying in Mexico for periods longer than 180 days and up to four years. Temporary resident visa also allows foreigners to open a local bank account, rent and buy cars and travel in and out of Mexico without restrictions.

  1. valid passport with at least six months of validity
  2. proof that you can cover your living expenses
  3. an application form filled out and
  4. a photograph
